For use as series resistors or potentiometers. Open type slide wire type with a variety of resistance and current carrying capacity. Copper-nickel alloys wire is oxidised to provide perfect insulation. Phosphor bronze contact provided on metal chrome plated slider-rod to give rapid and smooth adjustment. Three 4 mm socket terminals are provided. One at each end of the wire and the third at one end of the slider-rod thus the Rheostat can be used as potentiometer also. Resistance in ohms and current carrying capacities are engraved on it. The end support are made of metal/bakelite. Diameter 43 mm.

RIPPLE TANK – GUPTA BRAND 8006085
The versatile apparatus may be used as demonstration model with an overhead projector or as an economical method of allowing pupils to carry out their own investigations. Four legs are provided enabling the tank to also be used as a free standing bench model. Facilities are provided for mounting a ripple tank illuminant. A gantry is supplied for supporting a motor beam, the height of which is adjustable allowing it to be positioned for maximum effect. Ripples are produced by small 1.5V to 4.5V D.C. motor mounted on the wooden beam of 240 mm length. A cam is fitted to the motor spindle to give an oscillatory motion and a row of nine holes in the beam are for mounting the spherical dippers for production of circular ripples.
SEARLES SURFACE TENSION BALANCE – GUPTA BRAND 8006141
A horizontal frame is mounted on a rod fitted to a base & carries a steel wire stretched across it, the tension of which can be adjusted by a tightening screw. A light weight metal pointer with a counterpoise is attached to the centre of the wire by a clamp. A pan is hung from a notch in the pointer and has a hook at its underside from which can be suspended a light weight rectangular frame or a metal clip to hold a microslide edge. The tip of the pointer moves over a graduated scale. With rectangular wire frame, slide clip, six microslides & 3 metres of spare wire.
